Welcome to Five J's where we have been supplying quality materials for 15 years. This is an 80 acre FDOT approved borrow pit with large quantities of earth materials as well as being a permitted disposal site for vegetation debris. We have the ability to blend materials to reach a wide array of engineer specs.
This pit is located at the far end of Jeff Ates Rd. off of Highway 90 in East Milton, just east of State Rd. 87 South and U.S. Hwy 90 intersection. It is 3.5 miles north of I-10 off exit 31, 18 miles east of Pensacola, 27 miles west of Crestview and 22 miles north of Navarre. This makes it centrally located between 3 of the fastest growing areas in Northwest Florida.
We also have large quantities of Chalk or modelers clay. This Chalk has passed a permeable test of seven to the minus three (7 -3), making it a great pond liner or capping material.

Red Clay

We can also blend this clay with sand to meet road base requirements or any other specs as needed.
Builder's Fill

A mixture of sand and clay balls which results in a nice fill dirt with some stiffness. This fill dirt is excellent for highway maintenance, raising low lying construction sites and landscaping projects.
Brown Fill

This is the layer of soil between the topsoil and clay layers. It promotes good growth as well as having stability and has been used as base material for viaducts and roads along sensitive wetland locations.
Topsoil

The pit is a retired hay field ensuring a high quality soil with no roots. Some of the finest topsoil available in this area. Perfect for home gardens, home and commercial landscapers, planting trees, etc.
Septic Sand

Our Permeable Sand has met or exceeded all permeable requirements stipulated by Federal, State, DOT and County jobs. This sand has been successfully used for state road fill, holding ponds, sand chimneys and septic systems.
